- Software Analyst/Programmer
Position Description:
C# , .NET programmer knowledgeable of and experienced with the development and support of web and desktop application software design and development environments.
Principal responsibilities include:
• Design and/or build monitoring tools to support operations of production systems and applications
• Develop code using Microsoft Visual Studio in .NET and C# environments with an emphasis on front-end methodologies including AJAX, DHTML/XHTML, and JavaScript
• Design and develop web services components for cross-application solutions
• Collaborate with production application developers on the support profile for their applications
• Automate complex operational tasks using common scripting utilities
• Coordinate and prioritize application modifications and bug fixes
• Demonstrate use of tools, templates, standards, frameworks, shared libraries, and common operational utilities to facilitate manageable and supportable production application deployments
• Build common administrative application business support modules to be used by application support and/or development groups for effective management of production applications through a Siteminder-authenticated application interface.
• Deploy application updates using a standard installation process, verify success of deployment, and troubleshoot problems encountered.
• Perform daily checks on production applications and respond accordingly to resolve problems encountered
• Monitor health of production applications and build monitoring profiles to What’s Up Gold monitoring console as new applications are deployed
Education and Experience:
Preferred:
- 1~3 years experience development, deployment, and administration of systems and/or applications in an enterprise class data center
Required:
- Four year technical degree such as Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering
- or -
- Combination of at least 3 years of similar experience with progress towards a bachelor or graduate technical degree
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Microsoft .NET, C# and ASP.NET with a working understanding of Object Oriented design techniques
- AJAX, DHTML/XHTML, JavaScript, Cross-browser DHTML web design
- Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2005/2008
- Windows 2003 Server Administration
- Familiarity with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)
- Familiarity with SQL (Microsoft SQL Server background preferred)
- XML and XSLT programming
- Familiarity with Enterprise-class application monitoring system such as “WhatsUp Gold”
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Windows 2008 / IIS 7.0 / PowerShell
- Familiarity with source control management system, Subversion (SVN) or similar (CVS, VSS)
- MS Ajax and Linq
- Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture
- CodeBeamer - Web-based team collaboration and project management tool
- Documentation and reporting skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products including Visio and Project
- Familiarity with Linux administration and hosted application support
- Business process analysis
